Barcelona confirms signing of Brazilian midfielder Paulinho

The Barcelona confirmed today the signing of Brazilian midfielder Paulinho, 29, after paying the Chinese Guangzhou Evergrande 40 million euros (47.2 million dollars) of his release clause.

"The player will sign as a new azulgrana player for the next four seasons. The player's contract release clause has been set at 120 million euros," said the Spanish club.

Paulinho, who will be presented on Thursday at Camp Nou, is Barcelona's third signing of the new season following the additions of Portuguese defender Semedo and Spanish forward Gerard Deulofeu.

In addition, the Spanish press insisted today on the upcoming signings of Frenchman Ousmane Dembélé from Borussia Dortmund, and Brazilian Coutinho from Liverpool, pending an agreement between Barcelona's executives and both clubs.
