Spanish forward Pedro Rodríguez will spend the night in a hospital in Beijing after suffering a strong blow to the head in the friendly match between Chelsea and Arsenal.

The Spanish player of Chelsea, Pedro Rodríguez, suffered a concussion in the friendly match played against Arsenal in Beijing, confirmed his coach, Antonio Conte, at a press conference.

"I think he had a concussion, and our doctor has decided to take him to the hospital for proper treatment," explained the Italian coach, who added that Pedro "should be okay".

In the 27th minute of the first half, the Spanish international forward collided with the opposing goalkeeper, Colombian Ospina, after which he had to be substituted and, although he left the field limping, he did not need to be taken in a stretcher.

Conte confirmed that Pedro will not travel with the team tonight to Singapore, where the Spanish forward Álvaro Morata, recently signed by the London team, will join the concentration.

Pedro "will stay in Beijing. I don't know if he will spend the night in the hospital, but if he's fine, he will travel tomorrow to meet us in Singapore," said the coach of Chelsea.

The coach, questioned about the possible departure of Diego Costa, reiterated that he does not want to "talk about players who are not here" (the forward was given permission by the club not to attend the Asian tour) and insisted that it is "a situation that is closed for me".
