The Barcelona forward Lionel Messi renews his contract until 2021
The Argentine forward of Barcelona Lionel Messi has renewed his contract with the club until 2021, the Spanish team announced on Wednesday. The agreement will be formalized in the coming weeks, when the player returns from his vacation and will have a clause of 300 million euros.
"The Club celebrates the continuity and commitment of the best player in history, trained in the academy, who has developed his entire professional career in the organization and who is the emblem of an extraordinary and unprecedented era in world football," said the Catalan team in a statement.

The Argentine star, five-time winner of the Ballon d'Or, has been at FC Barcelona for almost two decades, where he started in the youth academy and ended up becoming one of the most successful and recognized players in the world.
One of the great names in sports, the thirty-year-old is the all-time leading scorer, both for the team and the country. His long list of honors includes eight titles in Spanish leagues and four Champions trophies with Barcelona since his professional debut in 2003.
