Ricardo Peláez said that he could never reject being part of the Mexican National Football Team, although he recognized that he would have to analyze the conditions and the team's environment.
The former executive of América served as president of the disbanded National Team Commission and was its sports director during the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
After Santiago Baños' departure as sports director of the National Team, that position is now vacant.
Faced with this situation, the former footballer indicated that he is excited to be part of the national team again in preparation for a new World Cup and beyond.
"I will never say no to the National Team, whether as a player or as an executive," he expressed in an interview with Fox Sports.
However, he accepted that "at the right moment, we will have to analyze if decisions are going to be made, what freedom you will have, and for what reason they are calling you, I don't know, it will have to be analyzed and discussed."
"I don't know the structure and I don't know the objectives they have," he commented.
Peláez has been away from football since his relationship with the América team ended in April, where he served as sports president.
