Javier Castrilli blamed FIFA for the mistake and called on Chilean and Conmebol leaders to defend the national team's sporting interests in the face of the error.
In a series of comments on his Twitter account, former Argentine referee Javier Castrilli said he suspected the non-application of the referee assistance system VAR in the non-sanctioned penalty to Chile against Portugal.
"The omission of VAR in Silva's penalty is not naive," said Castrilli, who also urged both Chilean and Conmebol football leaders to defend the national team's sporting interests.
X Sporting advantage to Portugal for the penalty not given to Chile, VAR can be a sharp danger in the future if it is manipulated and without clear rules

Uruguay great team in South Africa and Irmatov's mistakes took them out of the World Cup, the same one who operated VAR not sanctioning a penalty for Chile. Strange, isn't it?

It would be appropriate to remember some scenes from Holland 3-2 Uruguay directed by Irmatov who did not see (?) the penalty on Silva

So when does VAR intervene? Uncertainty, confusion, suspicion, insecurity, injustice, dissatisfaction, irritability, violence
