The German selection
The German selection was initially seen from above, as it was not going to the Confederations Cup with all its arsenal. Joachim Löw himself pointed out before traveling to Russia that he would try out players. Therefore, it was confirmed that his squad was alternate.
However, that "B" team has given a lesson throughout the Confederations Cup, even introducing themselves -with prodigious and lethal football- to the final of the international tournament. The last opponent will be the always complicated Chilean selection. Although Joachim Löw takes the match with great optimism.
"We know them well and they will go for it completely. It is almost the end of the season, but we hope they go to the limit of their possibilities. Chile is the most powerful opponent in the tournament. Although this youthful Germany can win the Confederations Cup," said Joachim Löw.
On the other hand, the coach of 'Die Mannschaft' has been surprised by the high level displayed by 'La Roja' in each match.
"Chile is an excellent team, whose players are used to playing together. They have accumulated many automatisms and experience. It is a team that has ball possession and also knows how to penetrate and create goal situations," said the coach of the German selection.
He considered it admirable that a "small country" like Chile has defeated "great football powers like Brazil and Argentina" in the Copa América.
"They have had a spectacular performance. They have nine, ten, eleven players who play for the best teams in the world," he said, mentioning the two main stars of 'La Roja', Alexis Sánchez and Arturo Vidal.
Joachim Löw also said he is not afraid of a possible penalty shootout, although he did not spare praise for Bravo, whom he described as a "penalty-stopping master".
