Alexis Sanchez faces setback in Bayern Munich transfer
Alexis Sanchez experienced immense joy after eliminating Portugal in the semifinals of the Confederations Cup. However, he has suffered a major setback miles away. Bayern Munich has decided not to sign the Chilean player.
Although Alexis Sanchez is an exceptional player, Uli Hoeness, president of Bayern Munich, stated that the Chilean is not worth his cost due to his age.
"We cannot build a team spending 100 million on a forward who is 29-30 years old," said the head of the Bavarian team.
The president also added that signing Sanchez would contradict their plan for the next season, which consists of signing prospects and young players.
"I fully support what we have been doing so far. Sule, Rudy, Gnabry, and Tolisso are players with enormous potential for the future," he concluded.
Manchester City is Alexis Sanchez's last option to leave Arsenal if he wants to join a team with a greater chance of achieving great things in Europe. The Chilean wants to taste the victories he enjoyed when he was at Barcelona.
