One of the main objectives of FC Barcelona for the next season is to form a team with substitutes for every position. In line with this, the azulgranas are looking for ways to strengthen the left-back position in the transfer market, and according to the portal 'El món a RAC1', they already have their chosen one.
It is Aarón Martín, a 20-year-old player who plays for Espanyol and who has had great performances with the 'Pericos' during the 2016-17 season, which led him to be considered one of the best footballers in his position in the Liga Santander.
The problem that FC Barcelona will have to face is that Martín renewed his contract with Espanyol until 2022 on January 30th, and as a result, his release clause increased to 30 million euros, a figure that the azulgranas will have to pay to sign him.
According to the mentioned source, Espanyol understands that Aarón Martín is a left-back with great potential, so they are not willing to negotiate his market value. In other words, if FC Barcelona does not pay the 30 million euros, they will not be able to have a substitute for Jordi Alba.
