Michael Phelps prepares to face a real shark
Michael Phelps' instincts helped him win a record 23 Olympic gold medals in swimming and apparently bored of an emotionless retirement, he is now gearing up to face a real shark.
Michael Phelps is getting ready to participate in the Discovery Channel TV show called "Shark Week", which will premiere in July.
"Phelps vs. Shark: Great Gold vs. Great White" is the announcement for the first episode of the series of the popular program aired by Discovery Channel.
"The most accomplished athlete in the world faces the most efficient predator in the ocean: Phelps vs. shark! The race is on!" announces the scientific channel.
At 31 years old, Phelps will make an appearance in the final season of "Shark Week", taking lessons at the Shark School where experts will teach top Olympic figures and viewers how to safely dive among the most dangerous sharks in the sea.
"He will learn how to stay calm when a hammerhead shark swims a meter away from his face," says the TV program promotion.
