Cristiano Ronaldo would not be comfortable at Real Madrid and apparently would not continue with the 'Merengue' team for the following season, according to BBC.

Portuguese Cristiano Ronaldo is "sad and upset" after being accused of defrauding the Spanish Tax Agency of 14.7 million euros and wants to leave Real Madrid this summer, a source close to the player told the British broadcaster BBC on Friday.

32-year-old Ronaldo, who has a contract until 2021, doesn't rule out a return to the Premier League or trying his luck at French club Paris Saint-Germain, although he is also considering playing in the Chinese league, the broadcaster said.

"He feels he is honest, that he has done nothing wrong and he doesn't understand what is happening. He is very sad and very upset," explains the BBC, citing a source from the player's inner circle.

Ronaldo signed with Real Madrid in the summer of 2009 from Manchester United for £80 million, a record signing at the time in football history, and in November of last year, he renewed his contract until June 2021.

In the indictment, the prosecutor's office accuses the Portuguese player of four crimes against the State Treasury, committed between 2011 and 2014, and which represent a tax fraud of 14,768,897 euros.

The Prosecutor's Office indicates that Ronaldo has taken advantage of a corporate structure created in 2010 to hide income generated in Spain from image rights, something that constitutes a "voluntary" and "conscious" breach of his fiscal obligations in Spain.

Cristiano Ronaldo, Real Madrid's all-time top scorer, has won two La Liga titles, three Champions League titles, two Copa del Rey titles, two Club World Cups, one Spanish Super Cup, and one UEFA Super Cup with the club.
