The Ivorian footballer, Cheick Tioté, passed away this morning in China. The former midfielder for Newcastle United died after collapsing during training with the Beijing Enterprise team of the second division of China.
The medical staff of the institution provided him with first aid and then rushed him to a hospital. However, Cheick Tioté passed away hours later.
The representative of Cheick Tioté, Emanuele Palladino, announced the death of his client. "With great sadness, I confirm that my client unfortunately passed away today after suffering a collapse during training with his club," he said in statements reproduced by the British channel "Sky Sport".
"We cannot say anything more at the moment and we ask that his family's privacy be respected in this difficult time," he added.
Cheick Tioté became known after joining the Newcastle United team in recent seasons. However, he decided to leave after Rafael Benítez's arrival as manager.
