Chelsea FC bids farewell to John Terry

With the news that the iconic captain, John Terry, will be leaving the London club at the end of the current season, Chelsea FC has released a thank you video on their Facebook account.

"John Terry and Chelsea announce today that our captain will be leaving the club at the end of the season," said the Stamford Bridge entity in a statement.

Terry, 36, has played 22 years at the English club, played 713 games, and won 14 tournaments.

Joined the west London club in 1997, Terry played his first match with the Blues in October 1998. His record includes a Champions League (2012), a Europa League (2013), four Premier League titles (2005, 2006, 2010, and 2015), four FA Cups (2007, 2009, 2010, and 2012) and three League Cups (2005, 2007, and 2015).

Despite these numbers, his experience, and loyalty to the club, Terry has lost his starting position in the heart of the Blue defense with the arrival of Italian coach Antonio Conte to Stamford Bridge and has played only five games this season in the English championship.

Terry has not declared whether he will leave football or if he will start with another club or country.

"I will make a decision regarding the future when the good time comes, but for now my only goal is to help the club win this season," the player stated in the joint statement.

"After 22 years at this great club, there are so many things to say and so many people to thank. To the coaches, my teammates, the coaching staff, and the fans who have supported me for so many years," he added.

Although from his words Terry does not rule out continuing his career as a player. "I feel I still have a lot to offer on the field, and I understand that my opportunities here, at Chelsea, are limited for me."

"I am eager to keep playing and I will fight to be able to continue with new challenges, although I will always be a Blue and I am looking forward to finishing my last season as the player with the most titles in Chelsea," he said.

In the Facebook video shared by Chelsea FC, the story of the British captain is told while showing some of his plays and goals, and the victories he has achieved.
