Barcelona presented on Monday specific details of what the Johan Cruyff Stadium will be, a venue with a capacity for 6,000 spectators destined to be the main attraction of the "Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper".
Josep Maria Bartomeu, president of Barcelona, along with Barcelona's director Jordi Moix and the mayor of Sant Joan Despí, Antoni Poveda, led the presentation, which took place at the Mercè Rodoreda Cultural Center in the town where the new facility will be located.
"It is a stadium where Barça B, the youth team, and the women's team will play, a stadium where the final steps will be taken before reaching the first team, and I am sure that it will be a reference space for formative football," said Bartomeu.
"We are very proud to be one of the clubs with the most homegrown players playing in the major European leagues," added the representative of the Catalan institution.
The architectural proposal, as indicated by the statement published by Barcelona, is characterized by its asymmetric profile, with a high grandstand of 1,000 spectators and a low grandstand of 5,000 spectators with integral coverage that gives it personality and is inspired by the old field on Industria Street.
