Fabio Capello criticizes Barcelona's defensive performance
Italian coach Fabio Capello was very critical of FC Barcelona's current performance and stated that they do not know how to defend, making them not the favorite for their quarterfinal match in the Champions League against Juventus. This match will reenact the tournament final played in Berlin in 2015, which was won by Barcelona.
"Barcelona doesn't know how to defend, unlike Juventus from Turin," commented Capello during an interview with the program "Radio Anch'io lo Sport" from Rai, his country's channel. "The tie is even," he added in reference to the match that Barcelona and Juventus will play next week in the Champions League.
However, he did not hesitate to applaud Barcelona's offensive potential. "With Barcelona, they cannot relax until the 95th minute, because they can turn the result around in three or four minutes. I see an even match. But I didn't like yesterday's Juventus against Napoli, they were too weak, had too many difficulties playing the ball. Napoli pressed well. If Barcelona does this, Juve will have problems," he explained.
Capello also spoke highly of Lionel Messi, whom he described as the "Luciano Pavarotti of football."
