Inés Melchor managed to win the gold medal after her participation in the XXVI edition of the Santiago Marathon in Chile, covering the 42 kilometers of the race in two hours, 34 minutes and 7 seconds. The Peruvian long-distance runner posted a video through her social networks to dedicate her victory to the flood victims in the northern part of the country.
"Hello everyone, today I returned to the track and I am very happy with the result. I dedicate this victory to all Peruvians, especially my compatriots in the north. Together we are #OneForce," said Melchor.
Meanwhile, the President of the Republic, Pedro Pablo Kuczynski, highlighted Inés Melchor's victory in Chile. "Congratulations Inés Melchor for winning the Santiago Marathon and showing us that with effort and discipline adversities are overcome," wrote the President on his official Twitter account.
