Liverpool could be about to bid farewell to another player this summer, with reports in France suggesting one of the Reds’ defenders is in talks over a potential exit.
A number of senior players have already moved on from Anfield in the past few weeks. Thiago Alcantara and Joel Matip were the biggest names to depart as their contracts expired, with Mateusz Musialowski and Melkamu Frauendorf among the younger players to leave.
Veteran goalkeeper Adrian and Anderson Arroyo – who never made a single appearance for the Reds – have followed recently. Now, talks appear to be underway for another player to be on his way.

According to Le Parisien journalist Marc Mechenoua, Billy Koumetio is in talks with Scottish Premiership side Dundee United. The 21-year-old could be set for a permanent departure from Liverpool, with the former Lyon youngster having made the move to Anfield in 2018.
He has spent the last couple of seasons away on loan, taking in spells with Austria Wien, Dunkerque and Blackburn Rovers. He failed to make a league appearance with the latter of those clubs, with his only game for the Lancashire club coming in the FA Cup against Newcastle.
Koumetio has made just two senior appearances for Liverpool over the years, although he did get a glowing review from Jurgen Klopp early on in his career.
"Billy the kid. He doesn't look like a kid!" Klopp told the club’s media about Koumetio back in 2020. "In my opinion, his face looks like a kid but then all the rest is like, wow!
"I told him, 'Last time I saw you, you were like 20 centimetres less if I'm right.' That's pretty special. Yes, he's a big talent.”
Liverpool.com says: Koumetio hasn’t lived up to that big billing from Klopp so far. His time on loan with Blackburn last season was disappointing, and seems to have almost certainly decided his fate this summer. At just 21, he still has plenty of his career ahead of him, and hopefully he can kick-start his career elsewhere.
