Manchester City, the current Champions League champion, also joined in the celebrations for Peruvian Independence Day and, through their social media, sent warm greetings to Peru on its 202nd anniversary.
"Happy Holidays, Peru!", the official City account posted, accompanying the message with a photograph of Claudio Pizarro and Pep Guardiola together, after coinciding in a sporting event held in China.
"What better way to celebrate than with this photo of Pep Guardiola and the 'Andes Bomber', Claudio Pizarro," the English team noted, referring to Pizza's successful career in European football.
THEY MET IN MUNICH
It should be noted that Guardiola and Pizarro coincided at Bayern Munich between 2013 and 2015, achieving important victories such as the 2014 Champions League, a trophy that crowned the Peruvian's football career.
