Near the end of the 2-2 draw at Leeds' home, a local fan entered the field and confronted coach Eddie Howe.
The entrance of a fan to a soccer field is once again making worldwide news. This time it happened in a Premier League match, near the end of the game that ended in a 2-2 draw between Leeds and Newcastle.
The TV showed how the local fan reached Newcastle's coach, Eddie Howe, and pushed him after saying some things to him.
Security personnel immediately appeared and removed the individual.
Fight for Champions League access
Newcastle, currently in third place and in contention for one of the four spots that grant access to play in the next Champions League, could not get more than a draw in their visit to Leeds (18th), in the first match of matchday 36 of the Premier League.
Leeds took the lead through captain Luke Ayling (7), but Newcastle turned the score around with two penalty goals from Callum Wilson (31 and 69).
With a little over 10 minutes left, Danish player Rasmus Kristensen scored the definitive 2-2 (79th minute) that allows Leeds to continue fighting for survival.
After this result, Newcastle has 66 points, three more than Manchester United, who will play against Wolverhampton (13th) on Saturday, and four points above Liverpool, who will play against Leicester (19th) on Monday.
