Defending Lisandro Martinez was one of the keys for Argentina to become world champions in Qatar 2022. The Manchester United defender was a wall when he entered the field and was decisive in several plays, such as the memorable tackle he made on Aziz Behich in Argentina's 2-1 victory over Australia. Although the former Ajax player is currently in his country enjoying the celebrations, his coach at the Red Devils, Erik ten Hag, already wants him back.
During a press conference, prior to the return match against Nottingham Forest, the Dutch coach expressed his joy for his player's celebrations in Buenos Aires, but made it clear that the English tournament will resume next week.
"He is strolling around Buenos Aires and I understand it because it is exciting when you win the World Cup. But (Lisandro) Martinez has to accept that the Premier League resumes on December 27th," commented in front of the media.

Likewise, the 52-year-old strategist indicated that, although the Qatar final was just a few days ago, the Premier League was already scheduled to return in the last days of December, so all his players must be ready for the competition.
"We try to have an individual plan for everyone, but we all know that the restart is five or six days after the World Cup final. And we all know that after the World Cup, the Premier League returns; so everyone has to be prepared for that and accept it," he concluded.
