"It's difficult to put into words how happy I am to have signed this contract," said the footballer
Phil Foden, midfielder for Manchester City, has signed a three-year contract extension, the current Premier League champions announced on Friday.
Originally from Stockport, on the outskirts of Manchester, the 22-year-old player is committed to the club until 2027.
"It's difficult to put into words how happy I am to have signed this contract," Foden said on the official City website.
"I have made a lot of progress in recent years, and a large part of it is due to Pep (Guardiola, his coach) and his team, who guide me every day in training," he continued.
"With the team we have, I believe I can continue learning and winning titles. Those are the most important things to me," he added.
Despite his youth, Phil Foden, who made his debut under Guardiola in 2017, has won eleven trophies: four English league titles, one FA Cup, four League Cups, and two Community Shields (the Super Cup). He has been capped 18 times for England. AFP
