Cristiano Ronaldo returned to scoring. The Portuguese forward scored his 700th club goal this Sunday against Everton, after starting from the bench for Manchester United.
The five-time Ballon d'Or winner has been sidelined since Erik Ten Hag took over as manager of the Red Devils, but he came on after 30 minutes to replace the injured Anthony Martial.
It took Ronaldo just 14 minutes to score his first goal in the current Premier League, taking advantage of a great through pass from Casemiro and beating Jordan Pickford. The goal also helped his team go 2-1 up before halftime.
This goal is also his 144th goal for Manchester United, the club where he is currently in his second spell.
The all-time leading scorer of Real Madrid scored 450 goals for the Spanish club, 101 for Juventus, and 5 for Sporting Lisbon.
The captain of Portugal also holds the international record with 117 goals for the national team.
