Great deal for the culés: Chelsea reaches an agreement with Barcelona and takes Aubameyang [VIDEO]

Jueves 01 de Septiembre del 2022

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is officially announced as the new player of Chelsea following his stint at FC Barcelona, and returns to the Premier League where he has previously played for Arsenal.

During the last few weeks it was an open secret, as the final details were being worked out for the transfer to become official. This Thursday, at the close of the transfer market, the novel finally came to an end: Chelsea completed an agreement with FC Barcelona to take Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and strengthen their attack.

The Gabonese forward had joined the Catalan team for the 2021-22 season after being released from Arsenal. After his transfer to the Blues, the striker became a great deal for Barcelona, considering that they didn't cost them a single euro and they will receive a significant amount of money for him.

Similarly, with the aim of facing the Premier League with the best weapons, Thomas Tuchel brought in a proven quality attacker in English football, as he showed during his days at the Gunners.

I'm very happy. It's an honor to be part of this team and I can't wait to start. I have some unfinished business in the Premier League, so it's good to be back and it's really exciting,” were Aubameyang's first words as a Chelsea player.

Pierre-Emerick is an elite forward with a proven track record in the Premier League and his arrival strengthens our team, giving us new attacking options. We are delighted to have Pierre-Emerick on board with us in this new era at Chelsea and we are looking forward to working with him,” added Todd Boehly, president of the London club, during the contract signing.

During the 2018/19 season, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was the Premier League Golden Boot winner with 22 goals, sharing the award with Sadio Mané and Mohamed Salah. There is no doubt that Tuchel will have a great asset to exploit, with a long trajectory and experiences behind him.

How has Chelsea's start to the season been?

After completing the first five matchdays in the Premier League, Chelsea have had a quite irregular start. The 'Blues' have one draw, two defeats, and two victories, accumulating seven points and ranking tenth in the standings. They have scored six goals and conceded eight, leaving them with a goal difference of -2.
