Englishman Jesse Lingard has signed as a free agent for Nottingham Forest, after a 22-year career at Manchester United.
The forward decided not to renew with United due to his limited playing time last season and has joined Forest for free, although with a high salary, as they have recently been promoted to the Premier League.

Lingard already showed signs of distancing himself from Old Trafford when he was loaned to West Ham United in the second half of the 2020/2021 season. After standing out at the London club, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who was then the United manager, promised him more playing time at United. However, neither the Norwegian nor later Ralf Rangnick continued to give opportunities to the Englishman, who decided to end a whole life at United on June 30, when his contract with the 'Red Devils' expired.
