Liverpool did not start their preseason as expected, as they fell 4-0 to Manchester United in the friendly match last Tuesday. Jürgen Klopp will have to make some adjustments for his team to find their best form. However, the British press highlighted that Luis Díaz, one of the best players in the squad, has maintained his attacking hunger and this is good news for the Anfield team.

The Colombian's performance has not only served to make him stand out among the attackers of Liverpool, but also to be compared to a player who left his mark during his time with the 'Reds': Luis Suárez. Although the Colombian plays in a different position than the Uruguayan, he has nothing to envy in terms of passion and intensity.

This is detailed by 'The Empire of The Kop' in their recent report: "Suárez scored four goals in the second half of his first season after arriving in January and then showed all his talent (...) There are also shades of Suárez in Luis Díaz. For 30 minutes today, he hit the post twice and was easily the best player on the field," mentioned the English media outlet about the level shown by the Colombian against the 'Red Devils'.

On the other hand, the same media highlighted a point that could serve Liverpool in the middle of the season: they will have 'Lucho' throughout the course, as Colombia did not qualify for the 2022 Qatar World Cup. This means that the former Porto player will be 100% focused on fighting for new titles with Klopp's team.

"(Liverpool) has the advantage of not going to the World Cup, so it will be properly prepared for the second half of the season, just like Mo Salah, Kostas Tsimikas, Andy Robertson, Joel Matip, James Milner and probably Roberto Firmino, since he is no longer included in the Brazilian national team," they pointed out.
