Manchester United was playing against Arsenal at Emirates Stadium, and a large percentage of their chances to continue fighting for a spot in the next Champions League was at stake. To achieve this, coach Ralf Rangnick decided to return Cristiano Ronaldo to the starting lineup after the recent death of his newborn son, the same week when Harry Maguire received bomb threats. However, the captain of the Red Devils did not play.

Part of Manchester United's inconsistent season is due to the disastrous defensive level they have shown both as a team and individually. In that regard, Harry Maguire is one of the most criticized. Nevertheless, Rangnick explained that his benching against the Gunners was due to the experiences he had in the last few days.

Maguire watched from the bench as United suffered a defeat against Arsenal, a direct rival, making it almost impossible for the Red Devils to qualify for the next Champions League. Meanwhile, 'The Sun' detailed the incidents that the English defender experienced with the bomb threats at his house.

Harry Maguire went through a very complicated and dangerous situation after having to leave his home due to receiving several bomb threats.

The mentioned media outlet revealed that Harry Maguire received an email demanding him to immediately leave Manchester United and later threatened him with "three bombs placed in different points of his house."

"Harry and his teammates regularly receive death threats on social media, but this was different and both the police and the player took it very seriously," said the source consulted by 'The Sun.' "The email said that Harry had 72 hours to leave Manchester or else the bombs would be detonated."

All of this happened after United's 4-0 defeat to Liverpool in the Premier League, a campaign where, in addition to failing to win any titles, they may not qualify for any international tournament in the following season.

"Fern (Maguire's girlfriend) was hysterical. She doesn't feel safe and she said she can't take any more of the threats that Harry has to endure," the English media outlet pointed out.
