These Guys Went to Paris To Show Snoop Dogg His Former Cadillac, Almost Got Arrested

It was Sam Hard of Hard Up Garage the one who got his hands on the 1966 Cadillac Deville that Snoop [Doggy] Dogg used on the stage that night. But the car apparently had driven along the shortest way from stardom to misery. He found it rotting away in a field, covered in dirt. The detailer threw up while he was working on the interior. That was how bad it was.

The Cadillac Deville once had Snoop Dogg's signature on the central armrest wrapped in white leather. But the handwriting was rubbed away over the years or just erased by someone who did not want it there.

Sam went through so many ups and downs with the Deville Convertible during the restoration that he lost track of them. Someone even wrote to tell him that there was no way in a million years that was the car that the rapper went on stage with at the MTV Music Awards in 2007.

However, later on, that same person got back on him to tell him that he had showed footage of the car to Snoop Dogg, and his eyes lit up. It was THE car he went up on stage 17 years before and took on a world tour that same year.

Fixing the Cadillac Deville was a race against time

Restoring it was far from being a walk in the park. At some point, it seemed a one-way ticket to hell. But Sam was stuck with the idea of fixing it and taking it to Paris to show it to the hip-hop star himself during the Olympic Games.

It was a race against time, and everything seemed to work against him, no matter how much he insisted on his motto: "No problems, just solutions!" In fact, he was right. He did find a solution for every problem that came his way.

After working around the clock and fire due to a short circuit on the night of the departure to Paris, Sam managed to get the Caddy up on the ferry even though he was late due to all the setbacks. But the departure of the ferry to France was delayed, which meant Sam's arrival was actually right on time.

He made it to Paris, where Snoop Dogg was to spend several days during the Olympic Games, be on stage at the opening ceremony, and attend several competitions as a spectator.

All this while, Sam and his team were driving through Paris in the Cadillac Deville Convertible, which was up on the trailer pulled by a Range Rover. They were on global news, and everyone found out that they were trying to meet Snoop Dogg and show him the car he had used back in 2007.

Paris traffic is playing tricks on the British visitors

Paris traffic can be tricky for those who don't know the city. With the famous Champs Elysees becoming a street exclusively for pedestrians on the weekends, they went straight into the boulevard with the only two cars there: their Range Rover and the Caddy on the trailer.

So, they had to drive off before the police came. In fact, the police only waved at them, thinking they were actually part of the rapper's staff and probably filming for him. They got away with it this time, but it wasn't going to work on their second encounter with the police.

Riding in the Cadillac that is sitting on the trailer gets them unwanted attention. But that's definitely not for pleasure on a cold rainy day in Paris, but for views on YouTube.

The British police working in Paris during the Olympics saw the car and wanted to take a closer look. But the French didn't like the attention they got, the crowd they gathered, and especially the fact that they were riding in the car on the trailer.

They spent 40 minutes conversing with the officers. Sam says they nearly lost the car and the trailer. However, they are left to drive off in the same format they came. So, they are going to spend the next few hours in front of the luxury hotel where Snoop Dogg was staying, waiting for him to return from the swimming competition.

At midnight, after seven hours of waiting, with no food, but on the news, and almost getting arrested, they are still with no signature from the hip hop star that they have been hunting. Sam and his team are gutted.
