According to the National Frequencies Agency (ANFR), a series of tests were carried out on iPhone 12 phones sold in the French market and it was found that the phones of these models exceed the specific absorption rate (SAR) index.
After learning about these results, the authorities officially requested that the US company "take all available measures to quickly remedy this dysfunction" in the market.
Why is the iPhone 12 causing concern in France?
The ANF indicated that the DAS emissions for a cell phone located in a pocket or in a person's hand must be a maximum of 4 Q/kr, according to European regulations. However, tests have determined that the iPhone 12 emits a total of 5.74.
This prompted the authorities to authorize the ban on the sale of the iPhone 12 in the market, even the Minister of Digitization, Jean Noël Barrot, told Le Parasien newspaper that they would do so if the company does not solve it in time.
