Rigoberto Urán is optimistic for the mountain stage in the Tour de France, which will have an uncategorized climb before the finish line.
The Colombian saved some energy in the individual time trial and hopes to have a leading role in stage 17, featuring high temperatures and steep ramps through the Alps.
"It's an important stage, very good, we are going to try to be in the breakaway. There will be a big battle behind, because there will be a war like in every Tour, one team wants to attack, another wants to defend," he told ESPN.
We are going to try to take advantage, have good legs because today there are five thousand meters of elevation gain. I feel good, I didn't spend too much energy yesterday, I hope to be at the front," he added.
Urán is currently in 77th place in the general classification led by Jonas Vingegaard.
