Max Verstappen dominated the Monaco GP from start to finish and achieved his 39th victory in Formula 1. The Dutchman handled the pressure well in different track conditions and beat Fernando Alonso, who had a minimal opportunity but the strategy did not work. Likewise, an excellent race from Esteban Ocon, culminated with a podium finish.

It was a beautiful race, especially in the final part, after the arrival of the rain. Max Verstappen firmly dominated from the start and Fernando Alonso couldn't keep up with his pace. However, the rain brought tons of uncertainty and the Aston Martin team took a risk by switching to dry tires in their first pit stop.

That move - with the rain - didn't work out, and Fernando had to make another stop on the next lap when Max Verstappen had also stopped to switch to intermediate tires, so the Dutchman had a clear path to victory. Aston Martin's risk was justified, though, as Alonso had nothing to lose and had second place practically assured.

In the end, the reigning champion added another victory and extended his lead in the World Championship by 25 points over Sergio Pérez. Alonso finished second and Esteban Ocon, after a great race, made it to the podium. Meanwhile, the Mercedes took advantage of the rain to break into the top 5; Charles Leclerc finished sixth, ahead of Pierre Gasly, Carlos Sainz, and the McLarens.
