The 19-year-old French full-back Malo Gusto, a promising player for Olympique Lyon, has been transferred to Chelsea for 30 million euros (plus 5 million in bonuses), although he will remain in France on loan until the end of this season.
The news was announced on Sunday by Lyon in a statement, in which they regretted "not being able to keep one of the great hopes" of their youth academy, but the club expressed their "happiness" to have him until June.
At 19 years old, Malo Gusto is one of the great promises of French football.
Originally from Décines-Charpieu, in the Lyon metropolitan area, he joined OL at the age of 14 and signed his first professional contract in December 2020.
He played his first minutes in the top division of the French league in January 2021 and has since established himself as the right-back for Lyon throughout 77 matches.
