Dificult decision. The final of the Qatar 2022 World Cup is approaching and there are several personalities analyzing the decisive match between Argentina vs. France. One of the latest to speak out was David Trezeguet, world champion in 1998.
The former footballer, of Argentine descent, achieved the highest trophy at the national team level with the French squad and showed his mixed feelings when it comes to naming a favorite.
"There is no favorite. It could be France for being the reigning world champion or Argentina for what Messi represents. It will be a fantastic match (...) sorry for the word, but this is a mess. I want the best to win. Destiny will tell who the new champion will be," he said in an interview with TyC Sports.

Although he mentioned that he would like to see Lionel Messi lift the title in his last World Cup, he considered that France has a very powerful offense led by Kylian Mbappé.
"Argentina has shown an interesting level game after game, with different variables and players. They have shown to be a solid team, in which Messi enjoys his teammates, with Julián Álvarez and Enzo Fernández in a key role. France, on the other hand, has varied little, they have a defined system and their support plays on the sides with players like Mbappé and Dembélé. The game is very clear," he concluded.
