Gareth Southgate and Harry Kane gave statements prior to England vs France for the quarter finals of Qatar 2022
France and England have forwards who ensure that "it will be a great game for the fans" on Saturday when they clash for the quarter finals of the 2022 Qatar World Cup.
As stated by the English coach, Gareth Southgate, on Friday at the pre-match press conference in Doha, "with Harry (Kane) and (Kylian) Mbappé on the field, the show is guaranteed".
"It's a great game for the fans, but there is much more than just them. There is Olivier Giroud, who is the top scorer in the history of France, Antoine Griezmann, who commands respect," warned Southgate.
The coach added that on Saturday at the Al-Bayt Stadium in Al Khor, where this European classic will be played, there will be "individual duels, but around these individual duels, the players have to help each other."
Harry Kane, who was also present at the press conference, praised Mbappé.
"He is a fantastic player," said the striker of Tottenham and captain of the English national team, "he proved it in the previous World Cup," when at only 19 years old he was key to France's victory in Russia 2018, scoring four goals.
On the other hand, Southgate praised the work done in his country, which has allowed for a great generation of young players to be part of the national team, such as Jude Bellingham (19 years old), Bukayo Saka (21), and Phil Foden (22).
"A lot of work has been done at the Federation, at the clubs, to help the young players grow, to develop them. Today the team has a great spirit, they have shared many experiences together," highlighted Southgate.
