The novel continues. In recent days, Paul Pogba has been in the eye of the storm after being accused by his brother Mathias of hiring witches to harm Kylian Mbappé, his teammate on the French national team. In response to these allegations, the Juventus player spoke out to the Justice system.
According to France Info, the 29-year-old midfielder had a second meeting with the authorities to clarify the recent extortion allegation. He allegedly revealed that he did indeed hire the services of a witch, but not to injure 'Kiki,' but rather to enhance the actions of an organization that helps children in Africa.
And that's not all he said. According to Pogba, his brother has been making these accusations under pressure from blackmailers who are demanding a sum of 13 million euros from the player.
As you may recall, the footballer reported "threats" and "attempts of extortion by organized crime", after his older brother promised in a video shared on social media "major revelations". However, the incidents reported date back to "between March and July 2022", according to a statement from the prosecutor's office. Paul Pogba already filed a complaint on July 16 with the Italian justice system, and the public prosecutor's office in Paris opened a preliminary investigation on August 3.
The French player told investigators that he was the victim of a trap set by childhood friends and two armed individuals, who reproached him for not financially helping them. He was demanded a sum of 13 million euros (12.9 million dollars) and claimed to have paid around 100,000 euros (99,750 dollars).
According to information from radio Franceinfo confirmed to AFP by a source close to the case, Pogba claims to have been intimidated on multiple occasions and claims to have identified his older brother among the suspects.
