A few days before the transfer window closes in Europe, Mauro Icardi received some bad news. Christophe Galtier, PSG coach, informed that he will not consider him and he will have to look for new opportunities. As if that wasn't enough, the forward has been removed from the squad and trains separately.
"We are going to sign a new forward. Meanwhile, we are looking for a solution for Mauro Icardi," said Galtier last Wednesday in a press conference. The strategist continued: "Icardi has been sent to train with the evening training group. I personally met with him to separate him from the team."

The PSG coach explained that the departure of the Argentine goalscorer will benefit both parties. "I believe it is important that he relaunches his career elsewhere, for the interest of all," he stressed.

Article 507 of Ligue 1 establishes that all players with a professional contract cannot train separately from September 2 onwards.
Icardi would not be the only player that PSG would look to get rid of before the start of the season. The list would be completed by Julian Draxler, Rafinha, Ander Herrera, Idrissa Gueye, Layvin Kurzawa, and Keylor Navas.
