Transfer agreement between PSG and RB Leipzig for Nordi Mukiele
Both parties agreed on a transfer, not a loan with an option to buy, as initially speculated.
Paris Saint-Germain and RB Leipzig have reached an agreement for the transfer of French international defender Nordi Mukiele to the French capital team, confirmed a source close to the negotiations on Sunday.
Both parties agreed on a transfer, not a loan with an option to buy, as initially speculated. Now it remains for the 24-year-old player to pass the medical examination and sign his contract with PSG.
The arrival of this defender, who was trained at Paris Saint-Germain and then went through Laval and Montpellier before signing for Leipzig in 2018, will allow the French champion club to have an additional solution on the right flank, along with the Moroccan Achraf Hakimi. Mukiele can also play in a three-man defense, a system that the team's new coach, Christophe Galtier, likes.
Mukiele will be PSG's third signing for the new season, following Portuguese midfielder Vitinha (formerly of Porto) and young French striker Hugo Ekitike (formerly of Reims).
For Mukiele, this signing represents a big step forward in his career, just a few months before the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, where he hopes to be included in Didier Deschamps' squad.
So far, he has only played one international match with the 'Bleus' on September 7, 2021, in the 2-0 victory over Finland in Lyon, in the World Cup qualifiers. He came on as a substitute in that match and played the last few minutes. AFP
