Alejandro Valverde cyclist already recovers at home from the injuries he suffered in the accident he was a victim of.

This Saturday while cycling with other riders in the neighborhood of Javalí Viejo in Murcia, he will be available to participate in the Tour of Spain which starts on August 19th in the Dutch city of Utrecht.

The 42-year-old from Las Lumbreras, who is facing his last season as a professional, was discharged on the same Saturday night after being kept under observation at the Virgen de la Arrixaca hospital in El Palmar. He was transferred along with his teammate Pedro Moya, who was also hit by a 69-year-old driver who fled the scene and later turned himself in to the Local Police.

This happened after a motorcyclist who was traveling on the RM 560 road where the accident occurred took note of the license plate, according to Antonio Sánchez, Valverde's representative.

The delivery took place at the police station in the district of La Alberca de Las Torres, where the driver could be sentenced to up to four years in prison.

The vehicle that hit the cyclists was stopped by the person behind the wheel after receiving the insults from the group of cyclists who saw it pass by them at high speed without respecting the stipulated one and a half meters of distance.

Valverde, who was very dizzy on the ground at the time of the accident and with his bike destroyed, is not participating in the Tour de France with his team, Movistar, and took advantage of Saturday morning to prepare for the Tour of Spain.

As the serious incident remained as "a scare," as stated by Valverde himself on his social networks, "El Bala" will be able to return to training in a few days with his mind set on his last participation.

Valverde, who was first attended to on the asphalt by medical personnel who arrived at the scene of the accident and then examined at Arrixaca, only suffered bruises, as verified by the scanner and MRI that were performed on him.
