Ronald Araujo and Marc-André ter Stegen pointed out how much the Uruguayan enjoys playing goalkeeper during trainings and discussed the possibility of him being the goalkeeper for Barcelona in an official match.
"I really enjoy putting on the gloves and going in goal, I think I'm good at it," Araujo began highlighting in an interview published on the Catalan club's social media, excerpt from the second season of the documentary series 'FC Barcelona, una nueva era'.
Meanwhile, German goalkeeper ter Stegen recalled: "I don't know why, but Luis Suárez also liked to play as goalkeeper, so it's probably a Uruguayan thing. They really enjoy being between the posts and they do it well."
Then both players from Barcelona were asked about the possibility of the Uruguayan officially playing as a goalkeeper for the team.
The goalkeeper stated: "In case we made all the available substitutions and, hopefully not, I received a red card, he could go in goal."
And Araujo added affirmatively: "Obviously, only in an emergency would I go there, but I would like to."
Not only has the Uruguayan played as a goalkeeper in Barcelona trainings, but he has also done it for his national team, mostly in informal matches held prior to official ones.
