The coach of Atlético de Madrid, Diego Simeone, justified that clubs in the Liga MX repatriate young Mexicans, because from his point of view it is important that players have a sense of belonging.

"As long as there is the possibility, especially economically, to have the best youth players in the country, the Mexican league is very competitive, despite not being able to follow it due to the games we have in Europe, because of the friends who have coached and are coaching in Mexican football, it is complicated, tough, because Mexican football historically is good football.

"Whenever you have people who have a sense of belonging to a place, everything is much better and when Mexican kids can come to play here in Mexico, sometimes it's better," said the coach of the Iberian team.

Simeone made the aforementioned statement after players who were playing in European football returned to the Liga MX, such as Diego Lainez who now plays for Tigres, in addition to rumors that the defender César Montes could also return to Mexico.

Simeone praised the level of Mexican football, but declined to give an in-depth opinion on the Tri that won the last Gold Cup, under the command of coach Jaime Lozano.

"For those who know me little and those who already know how I think, I don't openly express my opinion on something that deserves more time for explanation and vision, I have seen little of Mexico and it doesn't allow for a broad expression of what it suggests (with the question), I understand that coaches try to do it in the best possible way," he said.

Regarding the match they will have this Wednesday against Real Sociedad at the BBVA Stadium, Simeone said that they expect a good game, in which they will seek to maintain the line of what they have worked on with their team and that all the players have activity within the current preparation they have.

Goalkeeper Jan Oblak, on the other hand, stated, "I see the team very well, the new reinforcements have come and the truth is that since the beginning of pre-season they have integrated well into the team, the locker room is in good spirits, we are very excited to start the season and I am sure we will do better than the previous one, where we didn't start well but ended up doing well."

Oblak also spoke about the fact that goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon announced his farewell, praised his quality, and wished him the best in this new stage of his life off the field.

"Everyone knows him, he has played many years and is a world reference who has had a great career, I would like to congratulate him for everything he has done and achieved, and wish him all the best in his new stage of life," he concluded.
