Ben Brereton is approaching his first challenges at Villarreal. With his vacations over and already incorporated into the work of the Yellow Submarine, the Chilean-English forward has started the preseason, where he will have important international friendlies.
To prepare for a new campaign, Villarreal will play seven matches in Europe. Training began on Saturday, July 8 and will continue until Thursday, the 13th, the day the Spanish team will begin their journey with stops in Switzerland, Austria, Germany, and England.

Ben and Villarreal will face Swiss team FC St. Gallen on Saturday, July 15, Austrian team Rheindorf Altach on Tuesday, July 18, and German team Hannover 96 on Saturday, July 22. On Thursday, the 27th, they will be in the Netherlands to play against Feyenoord, quarter-finalist of the previous Europa League.
They won't stop there. They will continue with a match against Sporting Portugal on Sunday, July 30 and then travel to England to play in the Sela Cup, a tournament to be held at St James' Park, where they will face Nice (Saturday, August 5) and the local team Newcastle (Sunday, August 6).
Those will be the last challenges before the start of the 2023-24 La Liga season and Ben's debut in the Spanish top division. Villarreal's debut will be on Sunday, August 13, when they will face Manuel Pellegrini and Claudio Bravo's Betis.
