After a great football career, playing for important clubs in England and Spain, midfielder Cesc Fábregas announced this past Saturday his retirement from football fields to start his career as a club coach.
Fábregas confirmed the news himself through his social media, revealing that after more than 20 years behind a ball, it is time to take a pause.
"After 21 seasons playing as a professional, the time has come to hang up my boots...", he shared.
Likewise, the former Barcelona footballer thanked all the people who influenced his professional life to become an outstanding athlete in football.
"It has been an unforgettable journey. To all of you who have helped me, my teammates, coaches, directors, presidents, owners, fans, and my agent, thank you from the bottom of my heart. To my opponents, thank you for making me stronger," he declared.

At age 36, Cesc Fábregas puts an end to his career with great titles that marked his life, such as the 2010 World Cup he won with Spain by defeating the Netherlands in the final.
Likewise, he was able to win the Spanish league with Barcelona and in England he won everything with the jerseys of Arsenal and Chelsea.
His last dance on the football fields was in France, wearing the Monaco jersey, the last team that got to enjoy his skills on the field.
