The Spanish Football Federation has agreed with the Technical Committee of Referees to dismiss Ignacio Iglesias Villanueva after what happened in Mestalla, when from VAR only the referee was shown Vinicius Junior's blow to Hugo Duro and not the previous neck grab of the Brazilian, in an action that adds to a long list of complaints from clubs.
Both Iglesias Villanueva, who is designated for the league match between Real Betis and Getafe on Wednesday, and five more VAR referees will leave their position, according to sources from RFEF.
Real Madrid criticized in a statement the action of Vinicius' expulsion in Valencia and urged RFEF to take action. "The management carried out by the referees and VAR is not perceived as an isolated incident, but as something that has been happening in many of our matches. The victim who suffers the crime should never be held responsible."
The reaction of the Federation has been immediate and according to federative sources to EFE, referee De Burgos Bengoechea's management was excellent, the way he handled the racist insults to Vinicius, and he was led to error in the expulsion because a part of a video was hidden from him.
In this way, RFEF has reacted immediately with its decisions for VAR, in which José Luis González González and Xavier Estrada Fernández will not be able to continue after completing the maximum two years in the position.
