Exciting match between Real Madrid vs Chelsea

It's just a matter of days before experiencing the exciting match between Real Madrid vs Chelsea for the first leg of the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals. A duel that is repeated as in the previous season and generates high expectations among millions of fans.

Just before this match, Chelsea defender César Azpilicueta spoke to Agencia EFE to recall in detail everything that happened in the previous duel against Real Madrid.

In an interview, Azpilicueta praised Real Madrid's last campaign in the Champions League. The white team was losing 0-3 at the Santiago Bernabeu but managed to come back in an agonizing way to the delight of the fans. Not only against Chelsea, but in each of the ties that led them to the grand final.

"It's not just based on the Champions League anthem. It's based on quality, experience. They were eliminated in every Round... and they won the Champions League," said César Azpilicueta to EFE.

However, the Spanish center-back is confident in the squad's ability to compete against Real Madrid in this Champions League tie. He knows they cannot blink against the Madridistas if they want to make it to the semifinals of the tournament.

"We know that Real Madrid is a club with a great history in the competition and that's why what is necessary to qualify is the maximum level of each player in every situation, in every detail. Because they are a very dangerous team that often gives you the feeling, because we experienced it first-hand, that they are in control of the match... last year we were losing 0-3 in the second leg and they came back against us," he added.

The match between Real Madrid and Chelsea, for the first leg of the Champions League quarter-finals, will take place on Wednesday, April 12 at 14:00 Peruvian time (21:00 Spanish time).
