Barcelona continues to face problems and now the UEFA will take note of the 'Negreira Case'. The organization will conduct investigations in order to prevent this situation from happening again in any other club. Inspectors from the UEFA's Ethical and Disciplinary Committee have opened an investigation to learn in detail everything that has happened in the Catalan club.
The investigations will continue and it seems that there would be talk of a "legal violation" of UEFA's laws. They insist that they will go to the last instance to determine if there are sanctions or not. A few weeks ago, it became known that they were already aware of this case.
"In accordance with Article 31(4) of UEFA's Disciplinary Regulations, the UEFA Ethics and Disciplinary Inspectors have been appointed today to conduct an investigation into a possible violation of UEFA's legal framework by FC Barcelona in relation to the so-called 'Negreira Case'", says the note sent by the organization.
For UEFA, the main purpose is to know if they are violating any regulations and they promise to provide more information in the coming days. For Barcelona, the outlook would not be the best as it could also have economic implications in the next season.
Similarity with Juventus
FC Barcelona is in a similar context to that of Juventus in Italy. The 'bianconeri' team is being investigated for the 'Plusvalías Case' and has already had points deducted in Serie A. In addition, players are involved in this case due to salary issues.
The Catalan club is officially under UEFA's scrutiny, which could sanction Joan Laporta's club if it considers that there have been irregularities that violate its disciplinary code. One of those sanctions could be the prohibition of playing in its competitions (the Champions League, the Europa League, or the Conference League) for a certain period of time.
