Real Madrid faces Liverpool this Wednesday for their spot in the quarterfinals of the 2022-23 Champions League. And, just before this match, it was reported from France that the attacker Karim Benzema will stay with the Madrid team, as reported by the newspaper L'Equipe.
The publication states that Real Madrid has convinced Benzema that his successful period in the club should continue, and a one-year renewal has already been closed just a few months before the end of his contract on June 30th.
It was also stated that the 'Gato' has already put an end to his disagreements with France coach Didier Deschamps, and now aims to win more titles with his beloved team, Real Madrid.
On the same line, German midfielder Toni Kroos would also be renewing his contract for one more year with Real Madrid.
And Luka Modric?
Real Madrid is accelerating the renewals of players whose contracts expire at the end of June. The main objective is to reach an agreement with Croatian midfielder Luka Modric, whose name has been linked to Al Nassr, the club where his former teammate Cristiano Ronaldo plays.
Dani Ceballos and Marco Asensio are also on the negotiating table.
