The Scoring Ability of Robert Lewandowski Recognized with the Golden Boot
Robert Lewandowski's goal-scoring ability is undeniable and his numbers have been impressive during his time at Bayern Munich. The Polish striker, now playing for Barcelona, scored 35 goals in the 2021-22 Bundesliga season and won the Golden Boot, an award he has now won for the second consecutive season.
This time, the forward surpassed Kylian Mbappé (PSG), who scored 28 goals; Karim Benzema (Real Madrid) and Ciro Immobile (Lazio), both tied with 27 goals. Finally, the award was presented on Wednesday by representatives from European Sports Media, the organizing firm of the gala.
Lewandowski, along with his family, attended the ceremony with Xavi Hernández and Joan Laporta, coach and president of Barcelona, respectively. On this occasion, the Golden Boot was presented by Carles Puyol, who was a defender and captain of the blue and garnet institution in the past.
Precisely, the former player only had words of praise for the goal-scorer: "He is very complete, difficult to mark. Luckily I didn't have to face him. He controls all aspects of the game, has good control. A complicated opponent. The board and the technical secretariat did a great job in a difficult situation. He has adapted very quickly like great players and hopefully he will win again next year."
Immediately, Robert Lewandowski responded and explained how he feels in this new stage with the 'Culés': "I am very happy in Barcelona, also proud. For me, this is very important, now I know that this is more than a club. Thanks a lot to my wife and my family, also to my teammates at Bayern."
"It will be a great season and I take everything as a challenge. Although mistakes have been made, I am convinced that it will be a great experience, especially for the young players," concluded the Polish player, who already has 13 goals in 14 LaLiga Santander matches.
