Gerard Piqué has been in the news this Thursday, November 3, after announcing his retirement from football at the age of 35. The captain of FC Barcelona used his social media to communicate his goodbye to the king of sports, and various personalities of the football world spoke out, highlighting the heartfelt post of his former teammate Carles Puyol.
The popular 'Tarzan' used his digital platforms to dedicate an emotional post to Gerard Piqué, with whom he shared a dressing room and won several titles defending the blaugrana colors.
"Thank you for everything, Geri. I'm in shock (...) I will always be able to say that I played by your side, a privilege. Love you, friend," stated Carles Puyol's post for Piqué.
However, within the post, Puyol also took the opportunity to make a strong comment, suggesting that they were "very unfair" to the Catalan ex-central defender.
"They have been very unfair to you, few have defended the Barça shirt as you have done," emphasized Carles Puyol, after learning of Gerard Piqué's retirement.
