Giovani Lo Celso raises concern for Argentina at the beginning of the 2022 World Cup

The midfielder felt discomfort in the Villarreal vs. Athletic match in LaLiga Santander and left the field at the 33rd minute.

Lo Celso had made a backheel pass to a teammate; however, a wrong movement caused him a strong pain, so he fell to the ground to rest and request a substitution. Amidst the surprise of the visiting fans at San Mamés, the midfielder was replaced by Manu Trigueros.

In the upcoming hours, Lo Celso will undergo medical tests to determine his physical condition. In the meantime, Argentina hopes it is not a serious problem and that he continues to have the necessary continuity to reach 100% for the 2022 World Cup.

It is important to mention that, so far, the Argentine midfielder has played 12 matches in the season and scored one goal. He scored in Villarreal's (4-0) victory over Elche in the Spanish tournament.
