FC Barcelona lost 2-0 against Bayern Munich in Matchday 2 of the UEFA Champions League 2022-2023 group stage. In this match, Robert Lewandowski and Marcos Alonso started for Barcelona. Towards the end of the game, both players stood in front of the ball to take a free kick, which was eventually executed by the Polish player.

Cesc Fábregas, former player of the Catalan team, referred to this action and posted a controversial message on his social media.

"Marcos (Alonso) has scored like 30 goals from that position. I don't understand why he didn't take it," wrote the Spanish midfielder on his official Twitter account.

After the defeat against Bayern Munich, FC Barcelona has three points and is in the second place of Group C of the UEFA Champions League 2022-2023.

In the first matchday, the Catalan team defeated Viktoria Plzen 5-1 at Camp Nou. In the next match, coached by Xavi Hernández, they will visit Inter Milan, which has the same number of points as Barcelona and is their direct rival to qualify for the round of 16.
