Manchester City is one of the most powerful in England and also demonstrates it economically at present. The 'Citizen' team aims at a new target in LaLiga to strengthen the wings and, specifically, the left. The chosen one is Renan Lodi, who has a contract with Atlético de Madrid until 2025, but his future seems to be far from the capital of Spain for this season, especially when 'Cholo' Simeone no longer considers him an undisputed player in his starting lineup, or at least that's what preseason says.
In the last season, Renan Lodi played 42 matches with the rojiblanco club: he started in 19 of them and had the opportunity to score four goals, and also provided five assists. For this reason, he is one of the standout players of the 'colchoneros'.
In addition to being a great defender, he joins the attack whenever he has the opportunity. And Pep Guardiola has taken all of that into account to include him in his wishlist, or so 'The Telegraph' suggests. The main obstacle could be his contract, but there is interest in having him among their ranks.
Faced with the refusal of Marc Cucurella as an option for left-back, Manchester City is looking for an alternative. That's why they are considering Lodi, according to the aforementioned media, who claim that the 'citizens' would have a fixed place for him in the 2022-23 season.
Atlético, according to 'The Telegraph', has already set a price for Renan Lodi in case City decides to make a move. They would be willing to send him to Manchester and let go of one of their regular starters or recurring substitute players for a starting bid of 70 million.
If this signing doesn't happen, Manchester City will also be eyeing players like Guerreiro from Borussia Dortmund, Sosa from Stuttgart, Tierney from Arsenal, and also Ait-Nouri from Wolverhampton. They could be an option to reinforce the left flank after Zinchenko's departure.
