Cristiano Ronaldo is back
Cristiano Ronaldo played for the first time this season and after 45 minutes in the Manchester United vs. Rayo Vallecano match, he made way for Amad Diallo, who jumped onto the Old Trafford field with a goal. The 20-year-old forward, with just two minutes on the field, took care of converting the 1-0 in the friendly match.
The action started with Christian Eriksen receiving a pass from meters away from the penalty area. Then, the Danish midfielder stepped on the ball to find alternatives in order to continue the offensive. Immediately, the midfielder took advantage of Alex Telles' ascent, who showed himself as a passing option.
Thus, the 'Red Devils' scorer took a direct shot at the Spanish goalkeeper. At first, the goalkeeper Stole Dimitrievski blocked it, but only partially as he let the loose ball inside the six-yard box. In that way, Diallo won the duel against Fran García and shot over the three posts to score the first goal of the match.
Cristiano Ronaldo is back
After missing the tours to Thailand and Australia due to "family reasons", Cristiano Ronaldo wore the Manchester United shirt for the first time this preseason to face Rayo Vallecano in a friendly match, in which he was on the field only for the first half.
The Portuguese forward, who flew to Manchester last Monday to meet with club officials and his new coach, Erik Ten Hag, expressed his desire to leave the team and play for one that can compete in the Champions League before joining his teammates in training.
Cristiano, who has one more year of contract with Manchester United, with an option for another, and despite wanting to end his relationship with the 'Red Devils', found the affection of the fans in his return to Old Trafford. Numerous children attended the stadium wearing a jersey with his name and the number seven on the back.
Those children, and many adults, cheered every action in which the Portuguese player participated. He started at the top of the attack but, too unsupported to receive the final pass, he started dropping back to receive balls in the midfield.
